The province of Milan is confirmed as the economic engine of the country, with a lively and innovation-oriented entrepreneurial fabric with over 450,000 active companies protagonists of the digital push of the territory. Of these, more than 1,500 in the Municipality of Bareggio, mainly in the manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, IT services, construction and transport sectors.
According to ISTAT, only about 1 in 4 companies (among those more than 10 employees) has a “high” level of digitization, measured on 12 ICT indicators and for Confartigianato5 67.8% of small companies reach a “basic level” of digitization (at least 4 applications out of 12), a percentage 2.3 points lower than the EU average.
