Cagliari, Nov. 22, 2022 – Tiscali Italia S.p.A. and FibreConnect S.p.A. today signed framework agreements to define the terms of a strategic partnership having as its object the development of the ultra-broadband market in some artisanal industrial areas through Tiscali’s commercial participation in the project to build FTTH infrastructure.
The partnership is part of a framework of collaboration with local operators, thanks to which Tiscali will enjoy the possibility of access to a new ultra-broadband network that will enable it to achieve greater penetration in industrial and artisanal areas of the country. The project will expand Tiscali’s customer base in exchange for making certain commitments to purchase minimum volumes of connectivity services in the areas identified during the course of the project, which Tiscali will champion.
The network will cover specific industrial and artisan areas with fiber-optic technology and will enable high-performance, ultra-high reliability and availability service. Tiscali aims to become the operator of reference in the area and will play a key role in accelerating the development of networks in its chosen areas, collaborating on the implementation, in a short time, of infrastructures that are fundamental for the development of the territory.
From elaborations made from AgCom data, it is estimated that the vast majority of industrial areas in the country do not have any kind of UBB connectivity available and that the speed to date available on these areas is often less than 30 Mbps.
Thus, the great opportunity offered by the collaboration between Tiscali and FibreConnect, which, by bringing super-fast fiber optics to selected Italian industrial and artisan areas, will enable businesses in the area to participate in the fourth industrial revolution, seems clear. It will therefore be possible to take advantage of the benefits offered by services such as Cloud, Smart Manufacturing and Internet of Things (IoT), to use which it is now essential to have an ultra-broadband connection.
Infrastructure contributes to the revaluation of the areas involved, incentivizing companies to stay in the area, transferring the resulting direct and indirect economic benefits to it, in line with the goals of the digital agenda.
